Laser Treatments

Dr. Richard Ecker offers a variety of laser skin treatments at our McMinnville, OR office.  Our precise and powerful Cynosure Cynergy™ ND: YAG and pulsed dye lasers deliver targeted beams of light to your skin to address your cosmetic concerns and medical problems. Laser treatment is very efficient such that appointments may last less than 30 minutes.  Most patients require no anesthesia although we can provide it in the form of a topical anesthetic or local anesthesia should you prefer it.  Our laser treatments can help enhance the appearance and texture of your skin so that you can look and feel your best. Contact our office today to learn more about our laser services or schedule a consultation with Dr. Ecker.

Laser Hair Removal Dr. Ecker will determine if you are a good candidate for laser hair removal, explain the procedure, and give you a clear estimate of costs during your consultation.  If you decide to proceed with treatment, he will discuss the exact area to be treated and create a customized plan for your procedure. Our laser can remove unwanted or excess hair on most areas of your body.  With the Cynosure Cynergy™ laser fairly large areas can be treated each session which typically takes between 15 and 30 minutes.  Thorough hair removal treatments typically require at least 3-4 sessions usually spaced about 6 weeks apart.
Rosacea TreatmentIf you experience persistent redness or dilated capillaries (telangiectasias) from rosacea, please consider a consultation with Dr. Ecker as the pulsed dye laser (PDL) is often an excellent choice for improvement of bothersome problem .  A  PDL can destroy and eliminate swollen blood vessels that may be causing the persistent redness.  The PDL laser is very effective with minimal discomfort such that anesthesia is not required.  Depending on how much skin is treated, your session may take between five and 30 minutes. Complete clearing often requires that you return for follow-up sessions.
Sun-damaged Skin TreatmentTo treat redness and irregular pigmentation caused by excessive sun exposure, Dr. Ecker can use our laser to destroy these unsightly blemishes and rejuvenate your skin.  During your consultation, we'll decide on your best treatment options.   Although patients with darker complexions might not be ideal candidates, other treatment methods are available which can solve these problems.  Depending on the area of your sun damage, laser treatments may take between 15-30 minutes.  As with all laser treatments, adequate sun protection is required for the best results.
Leg Vein and Telangiectasia DestructionWhereas sclerotherapy is the mainstay of superficial leg vein destruction, smaller vessels which are not amenable to this method can be treated with a pulsed dye or Multiplex laser.  Schedule a consultation where Dr. Ecker can evaluate your leg blood vessel condition and suggest a treatment plan.  Laser removal usually requires no down time so you can return to work right after your treatment.
Psoriasis TreatmentPatients who suffer from psoriasis develop red, irritating, scaly patches which can be resistant to other treatment methods.  Using the XTRAC Laser, stubborn localized psoriasis patches can be markedly improved painlessly.  A series of treatments over several weeks is typically required for complete resolution although many patients see significant improvement with as few as 3 or 4 sessions.  This treatment regimen is covered by most medical insurances as a medical condition, including Medicare.
