Sun Damage
Damage from long-term exposure to natural and man-made ultraviolet light is perhaps the most common of all skin conditions. After years of regular UV exposure, by penetrating through the skin, produces dramatic changes in both the superficial and deeper layers of the skin. Aside from being the cause of most skin cancers, UV light affects the epidermis by alteration of the DNA in the skin. This often produces abnormal growths and a gradual breakdown of the skin components, including collagen. This increases the roughness of the skin, alters the normal coloration, and destroys the normal elasticity. Although we constantly stress sun protection, for those persons with sun damage, we offer a variety of treatment options to prevent skin cancer and improve the cosmetic appearance of your skin.
